DC Multiverse
Detective Comics #1000 Batman (Variant)
Today we will be taking a look at the New DC Comics Multiverse Detective Comics #1000 Batman variant edition. This year the Multiverse line of figures is made by McFarlane Toys and not Mattel.
McFarlane Toys, a subsidiary of Todd McFarlane Productions, is a company founded by comics creator Todd McFarlane which makes highly detailed model figurines of characters from movies, comics, popular music, video games, and various sporting genres.
This variant Batman look is more or less based on his look from the 60s and 70s.
PACKAGING:
Before we open this up, let's take a look at the packaging.
On the front of the box, we have a nice big window that lets us see the figure and everything he comes with. The top of the box lets us know that the figure has 22 points of articulation. The bottom of the box has the DC Multiverse logo as well as Batman’s name.
Turning the box to the side we have the name of the figure, and where the inspiration for the figure came from.
The back of the box is a little different than most, we do not get a picture of the figure, but rather the artwork from where the inspiration came from. The same goes for the rest of the figures in the wave, we get the artwork, no figure pictures.
Turning the box around one more time we get a small window that lets us see the figure.
OUTSIDE OF THE BOX:
Let's open the box and take a closer look at the figure.
Taking this Batman out of the box we can really see how much the blue pops on the figure. The yellow of the bat logo on the chest also pops on the background of the grey body.

Let's see what kind of accessories the figure comes with.

How does the size of this figure compare to others?
To the top of Batman’s head is just at 7 inches tall
Here is Batman standing next to Wonder Woman and Superman, both from McFarlane Toys
lastly here is Batman standing next to the normal release.
RATING:
What are Baby Huey's scores for the figure?
PAINT JOB 5/5
The pain on the figure is very well done, no issues at all
FIGURE SCULPT 5/5
I really do like the overall sculpt of the figure. it flows very well with everything else
POSING 5/5
Since the cape is a soft plastic it does not get in the way to posing the figure at all.
ACCESSORIES: 3/5
The bat-a-rang is way too thick and he should have come with a few more. It would also have been nice is the grapple gun had the ability to remove the cable.
DURABILITY 5/5
The plastic of the figure is sold and I don’t feel like it’s going to break or snap on me.
So another year has come and gone, this year like the year before wasn’t the greatest but at least we did get some really cool toys and action figures. I just want to thank you all for all the love and support you all give me, this would not be possible if not for all of you so thank you!
