Toying Around Reviews - Disney Pixar Lightyear Movie: Buzz Lightyear (Crystal Grade)
Lightyear Movie:
Buzz Lightyear (Crystal Grade)
Today we will be taking a look at the crystal-grade version of Buzz Lightyear. This version of Buzz has a shimmy (crystal) look to it, as compared to the normal paint job of the normal retail figure.
Mattel, Inc. is an American multinational toy manufacturing and entertainment company founded in January 1945 and headquartered in El Segundo, California. The products and brands it currently produces include Barbie, Hot Wheels, Fisher-Price, American Girl, UNO, Thomas & Friends, Polly Pocket, and Masters of the Universe.
PACKAGING:
Before we open this up, let's take a look at the packaging.
Buzz comes on a blister card packaging. The top of the card shows you that this is the crystal-grade logo. Buzz and all his accessories are displayed in the middle. A CGI picture of Buzz is at the bottom left with the movie logo in the middle.
Turning the card to the side we can get a good look at Buzz from the side.
The back of the box shows this Buzz as well as two other Buzz figures we can collect in this line.
Turning the card around one more time we get to see Buzz from the other side.
OUTSIDE OF THE BOX:
Let's open the box and take a closer look at the figure.
Taking Buzz off the card we get to see all the metallic type paint they used on this figure to give him his “crystal” look. The figure has a small hole on his back but doesn’t come with any wings or jet pack. I am to assume a later figure will have something that can plug in to give us our full Buzz Lightyear look.
ACCESSORIES:
Let's see what kind of accessories the figure comes with.
BUZZ LIGHTYEAR COMES WITH:
Space Helmet
Gun
Fuel Crystal
Crystal Card
ARTICULATION:
How can we pose the figure? Let's find out!
BUZZ LIGHTYEAR’S ARTICULATION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:
BALL JOINTED NECK:
allows you to turn the head 360 degrees.
BALL HINGED SHOULDERS:
It gives the arm 360-degree rotation and also the ability to raise and lower the arm.
SINGLE JOINTED SWIVEL ELBOWS:
This allows you to bend the arm about 90 degrees and turn it 360 degrees.
WRIST SWIVEL:
This allows you to turn the glove around a full 360 degrees
BALL JOINTED LEGS:
With this it allows the legs to move out to the side along with some front and back motion.
SINGLE-JOINTED KNEES:
The joint allows you to bend the leg about 90 degrees.
SIZE COMPARISON:
How does the size of this figure compare to others?
Buzz stands right around the 5-inch mark.
Here is Buzz standing with the Disney Toy Box and the McFarlane Mirrorverse Buzz figures.
RATING:
What are Baby Huey's scores for the figure?
PAINT JOB 5/5
The paint on the figure is very well done. The metallic really makes him pop a little more.
FIGURE SCULPT 5/5
The sculpt of the figure does look like how he will look in the upcoming movie.
POSING 4/5
posing isn’t great but it’s not bad too, some double joints on the knees and elbows would have gone a long way
ACCESSORIES: 4/5
everything he comes with is good and all but WHERE ARE HIS WINGS?
DURABILITY 5/5
The plastic is nice and hard, I don’t feel like it’s going to break or snap.
OVERALL SCORE 4.6/5
This is a nice little figure and would be perfect for a little kid that enjoyed the movie.
So another year has come and gone, this year like the year before wasn’t the greatest but at least we did get some really cool toys and action figures. I just want to thank you all for all the love and support you all give me, this would not be possible if not for all of you so thank you!
