Toying Around Reviews - Marvel Legends What If? Zombie Captain America

Marvel Legends What If?

Zombie Captain America

Today we will be taking a look at Zombie Captain America from the Marvel Legends What If wave. This is how Captain America appeared in the 5th episode of season one of the series. What If...? is an American animated anthology series created by A.C. Bradley for the streaming service Disney+, based on the Marvel Comics series of the same name.

The Marvel Legends Series is a lower-tier toy line that both collectors and non-collectors alike would be interested in. This is an action figure line based on the characters of Marvel Comics, initially produced by Toy Biz, then by Hasbro. This line is in the 6-inch (150 mm) scale, with spin-off lines in the 4-inch (100 mm), 8-inch (200 mm), and 12-inch (300 mm) scale. these figures tend to look good inside and outside the box.

PACKAGING:

Before we open this up, let's take a look at the packaging.

Zombie Cap comes packed in the stranded Marvel Legends Series box. The top of the box has the Build-A-Figure logo, this wave is for the WATCHER, the Legends Series logo is right below in the middle. Zombie Cap is displayed in the middle through the large window that showcases the figure as well as his shield. This gives great visibility to collectors that may not be opening it. Moving to the bottom of the box, you have the WHAT IF logo as this is a part of the tv shows line. Right below the logo, we have the figure’s name.

On the left side of the box, we get some artwork of Zombie Cap.

On the back of the box, we have some more artwork of Zombie Cap. as well as a small bio. Below that we have a lineup of the rest of the figures you need to complete the wings for The WATCHER.

Flipping the box to the right side now, you see we get the same artwork again that is on the left side of the box.

OUTSIDE OF THE BOX:

Let's open the box and take a closer look at the figure.

Taking Zombie Cap out of the box we can see that Hasbro did a really awesome job on this figure. This really is one of the most gruesome-looking figures they have ever done. Hasbro really went all out with the details. You get to see the bones and missing skin all over this figure. I really didn’t think we would ever get something like this from Hasbro.

ACCESSORIES:

Let's see what kind of accessories the figure comes with.

ZOMBIE CAP COMES WITH:

His Shield

ARTICULATION:

How can we pose the figure? Let's find out!

ZOMBIE CAP’S ARTICULATION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:

HINGED JOINTED NECK

allows you to turn the head 360-degrees.

BALL HINGED SHOULDERS

Gives the arm 360-degree rotation and also the ability to raise and lower the arm.

UPPER BICEP SWIVEL

This cut lets you turn the whole arm below the cut 360-degrees.

DOUBLE-JOINTED ELBOWS:

This allows you to bend the arm past 90-degrees.

SWIVEL BALL HINGE WRISTS

It allows you to turn his wrists in a full 360-degree circle while also bending them up and down.

AB CRUNCH:

This cut lets you be able to bend the figure front and back at the Abs.

WAIST SWIVEL

This lets you be able to turn the figure around 360 degrees at the waist.

BALL JOINTED LEGS

With this it allows the legs to move out to the side along with some front and back motion.

UPPER THIGH SWIVEL:

The leg can rotate around a full 360 degrees.

DOUBLE-JOINTED KNEES:

The joint allows you to bend the leg itself back to the butt of the figure.

HINGED ANKLES WITH ROCKERS:

The ankle hinge allows you to bend the foot front and back. The rockers allow you to rock the ankles towards the outside and inside of the legs of the figure.

SIZE COMPARISON:

How does the size of this figure compare to others?

Zombie Cap stands right around the 6.5-inch mark.

Here is Zombie Cap standing next to End Game Cap and Zombie Hunter Spider-Man from this same wave of figures.

RATING:

What are Baby Huey's scores for the figure?

PAINT JOB 5/5

Hasbro really went all out with this figure. He has more paint on him than I have ever seen on a basic Marvel Legend figure. I didn’t think they would add as much blood as they did

FIGURE SCULPT 5/5

The sculpt is just perfect, Looks like how he did in the show. Hasbro really knocked this one out of the park

POSING 5/5

Zombie Cap has all the normal Marvel Legends articulation so getting him into any pose or zombie pose is not an issue.

ACCESSORIES: 5/5

Zombie Cap comes with his Shield, not sure what else you could as him to come with.

DURABILITY 5/5

I am shocked at how strong the plastic feels in the legs. I really thought with the holes in the legs that it would feel weaker but it doesn’t.

OVERALL SCORE 5/5

you do not need Zombie Cap to finish the WATCHER build-a-figure so you do not NEED to get him, but this guy is awesome so if you are a Captain America fan or a Zombie fan I would say you NEED to pick him up.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

RETAIL COST: $19.99

I picked mine up at my local WALMART.
