Toying Around Reviews - DC Super Powers: Hush Batman

DC Super Powers:

Hush Batman

Today we will look at Batman from this return to the DC Super Powers line from McFarlane Toys.

As a child, Bruce Wayne watched as his parents were brutally killed in Gotham City’s Crime Alley. Traumatized by their deaths, he devoted his life to becoming the world’s greatest weapon against crime – the Batman! To become the ultimate vigilante, the Dark Knight disciplined his mind and body to reach the pinnacle of mental and physical superiority in his relentless pursuit of justice!

Continuing the legacy of the DC Super Powers line of the 80s comes a brand new batch of your favorite heroes and villains in the classic nostalgia series we all love, Classic 4" scale Super Powers Figures with 5 points of Articulation, Batman is featured in his look from Batman: Hush, Comes packaged in iconic Super Powers blister card packaging with updated artwork and logos reflecting your favorite characters

PACKAGING:

Before we open this up, let's take a look at the packaging.

All the figures in this Super Powers line come on a blister card that almost looks like the classic Super Powers card from the 80s. At the top, we have the DC and Batman logos. The Super Powers logo is right below that. Batman himself is displayed In the blister bubble next to some Batman artwork. The bottom displays a throwback McFarlane logo.

Turning the card to the side we can get a good look at the Batman from the side

On the back of the card, we get a cross cell of the other figures in this first wave, as well as some vehicles.

On the other side of the card, we again see Batman from the side. These side views are helpful for any collector that wishes to keep his figure mint on the card.

OUTSIDE OF THE BOX:

Let's open the box and take a closer look at the figure.

Taking Batman off the card back we can see that this is most likely how Batman would look from the Hush storyline if the DC SuperPowers line had never stopped. The cape, however, is made out of what I can only describe as ribbon-like material, and that is unfortunate because the cape is fastened to the packaging and it puts a permanent hole in the cape.

ACCESSORIES:

NONE!

ARTICULATION:

How can we pose the figure? Let's find out!

BATMAN’S ARTICULATION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:

MUSHROOM PEGGED NECK

allows you to turn the head 360 degrees.

MUSHROOM PEGGED SHOULDERS

This gives the arm 360-degree rotation.

MUSHROOM PEGGED LEGS

This allows the legs to move back and forth

SINGLE-JOINTED KNEES:

The joint allows you to bend the leg about 90 degrees.

SIZE COMPARISON:

How does the size of this figure compare to others?

Vision stands right at 4 inches tall

Here is Batman standing next to 7-inch McFarlane Batmen, Batman from Detective Comics #1000, and Batman from the Dark Knight Returns.

RATING:

What are Baby Huey's scores for the figure?

PAINT JOB 4.5/5

The paint job looks really good, Paint is a little sloppy around the mask/face area but that’s about it.

FIGURE SCULPT 5/5

The sculpting of the figure works very well. I feel like this is what Batman would have looked like back in the 80s if they did a Hush Batman.

POSING 4/5

This is hard to rate because it is based on the style from the 80s and it has everything the figure would have had back then, however it would have been nice to see maybe elbow bends added.

ACCESSORIES: 0/5

none!

DURABILITY 5/5

The plastic used on the figure is nice a hard, I don’t have any fear of it breaking down over time.

OVERALL SCORE 3.7/5

having no accessories took the score down a little bit but most of the figures didn’t have them back in the day as well.

RETAIL COST: $9.97

I picked mine up from my local WALMART.
