DC Collectibles Batman vs. The TMNT, Batman & Leonardo action figures: Leonardo
Today we will be taking a look at Leonardo from the GameStop exclusive Batman vs the TMNT two-pack from DC Collectibles
This two-pack is based on the Batman vs TMNT animated movie that was released earlier this year.
PACKAGING:
Before we open this up, let's take a look at the packaging.
Leo and Batman come in the same style two-pack that the rest of the figures in this line come in. The top of the box has the Only @ GameStop sticker. Leo and Batman are displayed in the middle with all the accessories visible. The bottom of the box has the Batman vs TMNT logo on the left and the names of the figures on the right side.
Turning the box to the side we get a turtle shell, the middle also lets us know that Batman has been sculpted by Paul Harding and Leo was sculpted by Johnathan Matthews
turning the box to the back we get a product shot of Leo and Batman along with the story “When a new menace in Gotham City begins stealing experimental technology, Batman is put on high alert, but a new team of warriors lurking beneath the streets is also on the case: The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! Led by Leonardo, these brothers - brainy Donatello, fearless Raphael, and wisecracking Michelangelo - are mysterious martial artists on a collision course with the Dark Knight. Based on the hit DC Comics crossover, Batman vs Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is a high-flying, pulse-pounding adventure the likes of which Gotham has never seen!“ The Bottom of the box gives us a look at the rest of the two-packs. Robin & Raphael, Batgirl & Donatello, Alfred & Michelangelo and Ra’s Al Ghul & Shredder
Turning the box to the other side you have a good look at the side of Leo, This is nice for our friends who like to keep the figures mint inbox
OUTSIDE OF THE BOX:
Let's open the box and take a closer look at the figure.
Taking Leo out of the box we get a very good look at the animated detail DC Collectables has put into this figure. He looks like he came right out of the animated movie.
ACCESSORIES:
Let's see what kind of accessories the figure comes with.
Leonard comes with:
a set of closed fisted hands
a set of open (chopping) hands
a set of grip holding hands
a slice of pizza
two katana swords
Sheath for swords
ARTICULATION:
How can we pose the figure? Let's find out!
Leonardo's articulation includes the following:
Ball Jointed Neck - allows you to swivel the head 360-degrees.
Ball Hinged Shoulders - gives the arm 360-degree rotation and also the ability to raise and lower the arm.
Single Jointed Elbows - this gets you just about a 90-degree bend.
Swivel Hinge Wrists - allows you to turn his wrists in a full 360-degree circle while also bending them up and down.
Ball Jointed Legs - with this it allows the legs to move out to the side along with some front and back motion.
Double Jointed Knees - joint allows you to bend the leg itself all the way back to the butt of the figure. (however on my figure I could not get the 2nd joint to move, and I didn’t want to break him)
Hinged Ankles with rockers - The ankle hinge allows you to bend the foot front and back. The rockers allow you to rock the ankles towards the outside and inside of the legs of the figure.
SIZE COMPARISON:
How does the size of this figure compare to others?
Leo stands just a little under 6 inches tall
Here is Leo standing next to the comic book Leo from the Target two-pack that we looked at not that long ago.
RATING:
What are Baby Huey's scores for the figure?
PAINT JOB 5/5
Paint on this figure is spot on, he really looks like he came right out of the movie.
FIGURE SCULPT / POSING 4/5
The sculpt work is very well done, my only real issue with the figure is the double knee joint is so tight that I can’t get them to move
DURABILITY 4/5
It is a strong figure, I don’t feel like he is going to brake aside from the knees when trying to move it too hard.
OVERALL SCORE 4.33/5
I do really like this figure a lot, I was a little skeptical on how they would look when they announced they were doing the figures, but so far I love them.
RETAIL COST: $49.99
