Toying Around Reviews - Power Rangers Lightning Collection: Lord Drakkon

Power Rangers Lightning Collection: Lord Drakkon

Today we will be taking a look at Lord Drakkon from the Power Rangers’ Lightning Collection.

For any who don’t know who Lord Drakkon is, he serves as the main antagonist in the Shattered Grid arc of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers comic books by Boom! Studios. He is a sinister and older version of Tommy Oliver from an alternate reality where he rules his Earth with an iron fist from a dystopian and futuristic Angel Grove where he is in total control.

The Lightning Collection is the new adult collector line from Hasbro. Hasbro took over the Power Rangers line from Bandai this year. This new Lightning Collection line should fit in nicely with the Marvel Legends and Star Wars Black Series since they are all now made by Hasbro.

PACKAGING:

Before we open this up, let's take a look at the packaging.

Lord Drakkon comes in what is to be the standard box for this new Lightning Collection by Hasbro. It’s a nice rectangle style box. Lord Drakkon is displayed clearly in the middle with all his accessories. To the right is some artwork of Lord Drakkon. Below we have the Power Rangers Lightning Collection logo along with the name of the figure.

Turning the box around we see that the artwork from the front of the box is wrapping around to this side.

The back of the box only shows the promo picture for the figure. This line does not show any other figures from the line nor a bio for the figure.

Turning the box around one more time we see we have another look at that same artwork from the front.

OUTSIDE OF THE BOX:

Let's open the box and take a closer look at the figure.

Taking Lord Drakkon out of the box we get a good look at all this figure. The figure looks really well done, and looks like he came right out of the comic book

ACCESSORIES:

Let's see what kind of accessories the figure comes with.

LORD DRAKKON COMES WITH:

Tommy Oliver head

a pair of holding hands

a pair of closed fists

Dragon Dagger (should have come with Saba too)

Blast effect

ARTICULATION:

How can we pose the figure? Let's find out!

LORD DRAKKON’S ARTICULATION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:

HINGED BALL JOINTED NECK

allows you to swivel the head 360-degrees and tilt the head back and forth.

BUTTERFLY HING

This allows you to move the shoulder area front and back to get a better range of motion.

BALL HINGED SHOULDERS

Gives the arm 360-degree rotation and also the ability to raise and lower the arm.

DOUBLE JOINTED ELBOWS

This allows you to bend the arm back to have the hands near the shoulders.

SWIVEL HINGE WRISTS

It allows you to turn his wrists in a full 360-degree circle while also bending them up and down.

UPPER WAIST SWIVEL

This lets you be able to turn the figure around 360 degrees at the waist.

AB CRUNCH

This cut lets you be able to bend the figure front and back at the Abs, Where most Ab Crunches let you bend the figure at the top of the abs this one is different as the crunch at the bottom, more at the belt of the figure.

BALL JOINTED LEGS

With this it allows the legs to move out to the side along with some front and back motion.

UPPER THIGH SWIVEL

The leg can rotate around a full 360 degrees.

DOUBLE JOINTED KNEES

The joint allows you to bend the leg itself back to the butt of the figure.

HINGED ANKLES WITH ROCKERS

The ankle hinge allows you to bend the foot front and back. The rockers allow you to rock the ankles towards the outside and inside of the legs of the figure.
