Power Rangers Lightning Collection: Goldar

Today we will be taking a look at the GameStop exclusive Goldar from the Power Ranger’s Lightning Collection.

The Lightning Collection is the new adult collector line from Hasbro. Hasbro took over the Power Ranger line from Bandai this year. This new Lighting Collection line should fit in nicely with the Marvel Legends line of figures since they are both made by Hasbro.

Goldar is a GameStop exclusive.

PACKAGING:

Before we open this up, let's take a look at the packaging.

Goldar comes in what is to be the standard box for this new Lightning Collection by Hasbro, the only difference from this box is that it is done in gold/yellow rather than the normal white box. It’s a nice rectangle style box. Goldar is displayed on the left side along with all his accessories. To the right is some artwork of Goldar. Below we have the Power Rangers Lightning Collection logo along with the name of the figure.

Turning the box around we see that the artwork from the front of the box is wrapping around to this side.

The back of the box only shows the promo picture for the figure. This line does not show any other figures from the line nor a bio for the figure.

Turning the box around one more time we see we have another look at that same artwork from the front.

OUTSIDE OF THE BOX:

Let's open the box and take a closer look at the figure.

Taking Goldar out of the box, we get a good look at the gold and red that they used on this figure. I do feel the gold could have been a little more gold. It overall feels a little fat to me.

ACCESSORIES:

Let's see what kind of accessories the figure comes with.

Goldar comes with:

His Sword

A lighting effect for his sword.

Left and right open hands for holding the sword.

Closed right fist.

Open left hand

His wings

ARTICULATION:

How can we pose the figure? Let's find out!

GOLDAR’S ARTICULATION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:

BALL JOINTED NECK

It allows you to swivel the head 360-degrees.

BALL HINGED SHOULDERS

Gives the arm 360-degree rotation and also the ability to raise and lower the arm.

Double Jointed Elbows

This allows you to bend the arm back to have the hands near the shoulders.

Swivel Hinge Wrists

It allows you to turn his wrists in a full 360-degree circle while also bending them up and down.

Upper Waist Swivel

This lets you be able to turn the figure around 360 degrees at the waist.

Ab Crunch

This cut lets you be able to bend the figure front and back at the Abs, Where most Ab Crunches let you bend the figure at the top of the abs this one is different as the crunch at the bottom, more at the belt of the figure.

Ball Jointed Legs

With this it allows the legs to move out to the side along with some front and back motion.

Upper Thigh Swivel

The leg can rotate around a full 360 degrees.

Double Jointed Knees

The joint allows you to bend the leg itself back to the butt of the figure.

Hinged Ankles with rockers

The ankle hinge allows you to bend the foot front and back. The rockers allow you to rock the ankles towards the outside and inside of the legs of the figure.

Wings

His wings are on a swivel hinge that allows you to move the wings in and out, up and down.

SIZE COMPARISON:

How does the size of this figure compare to others?

Goldar stands about 6.5 inches tall

Here is Goldar standing next to Green Ranger (fighting Spirit) and a Puddy.

RATING:

What are Baby Huey's scores for the figure?

PAINT JOB 5/5

Overall not much paint on Goldar, but what he does has is spot on.

FIGURE SCULPT / POSING 5/5

The sculpting on the figure is very nicely done, Goldar looks just like he did on the show, and being able to pose and remove the wings is just an added touch.

DURABILITY 4/5

The figure is pretty solid, my only issue with the figure is that hi’s back is soft where you plug the wings in, so I do see that becoming an issue over time with the wings dripping.

OVERALL SCORE 4.66/5

Overall not a bad figure, If you are a Power Rangers fan or even a fan of the lighting collection head over to GameStop and pick one up.

RETAIL COST: $22.99

You can only get Goldar at GAMESTOP.
