NECA T2 John Connor

For today’s review, we will be taking a look at the John Connor T2 figure from NECA

The National Entertainment Collectibles Association or NECA is an American manufacturer of collectibles typically licensed from films, video-games, sports, music, and television that is based in New Jersey. The company was founded in 1996 and has over 60 licenses for which it produces products.

PACKAGING:

Before we open this up, let's take a look at the packaging.

John comes in the standard NECA box. It is a rectangle box that features the logo of the film at the top of the box and a picture that the figure is based on from the movie. The name of the figure is listed below.

Turning the box to the side we again get the name of the movie with the same picture below.

Moving to the back of the box we get a small bio on the figure as well as some product shots.

Turning the box around one more time we again get the logo and picture.

Bringing the box back to the front you can see we can open the box up, in doing so we are shown a product shot on the left and then the actual figure on the right. With this, we get a very good look at the figure and all the accessories he comes with.

OUTSIDE OF THE BOX:

Let's open the box and take a closer look at the figure.

Taking John out of the box we get to see that they did do a nice job on capturing the likeness of his outfit from the movie. I do think they missed the mark a little bit on his face.

The main issue is have with the figure is his legs. As you can see on leg is a little shorter then the other and it makes it a pain to stand him.

ACCESSORIES:

Let's see what kind of accessories the figure comes with.

JOHN COMES WITH:

An alt head with a bandana on it (from the T2-3D at Universal Studios)

The T-800 arm

His ATM hacking computer.

His bike

ARTICULATION:

How can we pose the figure? Let's find out!

JOHN’S ARTICULATION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:

HINGED BALL JOINTED NECK

allows you to swivel the head 360-degrees and tilt the head back and forth.

BALL HINGED SHOULDERS

Gives the arm 360-degree rotation and also the ability to raise and lower the arm.

SINGLE JOINTED ELBOWS

This allows you to bend the arm about 90-degrees.

SWIVEL HINGE WRISTS

It allows you to turn his wrists in a full 360-degree circle while also bending them up and down.

AB CRUNCH

This cut lets you be able to bend the figure front and back at the Abs, Where most Ab Crunches let you bend the figure at the top of the abs this one is different as the crunch at the bottom, more at the belt of the figure.

WAIST SWIVEL

this lets you be able to turn the figure around 360 degrees at the waist.

BALL JOINTED LEGS

With this it allows the legs to move out to the side along with some front and back motion.

SINGLE JOINTED KNEES

This joint gives you about a 90-degree bend in the leg.

HINGED ANKLES WITH ROCKERS

The ankle hinge allows you to bend the foot front and back. The rockers allow you to rock the ankles towards the outside and inside of the legs of the figure.

SIZE COMPARISON:

How does the size of this figure compare to others?

John stands a little over 5.5 inches tall

here is John standing next to another metal man, Iron Man

RATING:

What are Baby Huey's scores for the figure?

PAINT JOB 4/5

Paint overall on the figure is nicely done. I do think they went a little heavy on the paint on the face though

FIGURE SCULPT / POSING 3/5

The overall sculpt of the figure is well done, however with the one leg being shorter then the other it really makes it hard to stand him up in a lot of poses.

DURABILITY 4/5

The figure is strong, no issues at all with this figure, even with one leg being shorter than the other.

OVERALL SCORE 3.66/5

paint and short leg aside, It’s a decent figure overall

RETAIL COST: $27.99
