Toying Around Reviews - Marvel Toy Box Thanos
Disney’s Marvel Toy Box - Thanos
Today we will be taking a look at Thanos from the Disney Exclusive Toy Box line.
The Toy Box line is a newer line that Disney has been putting out themselves. All the figures in the line (Disney, Marvel, Star Wars and Pixar) are based loosely on the old Disney Infinity toys-to-life game that was available on PS4, Xbox, and Wii U.
Packaging:
Before we open this up, let's take a look at the packaging.
Thanos comes in the standard Toy Box box, however the box, At the top, you have the Disney Store exclusive logo with the Marvel Toy Box Logo running down the left side of the box. Thanos is displayed inside the blister card. Behind him, you have a big blue #13 as he is the 13th figure in the Marvel Toy Box. Towards the bottom, you have Thanos's name.
Turning the box to the side you have a clear side look at Thanos. This is perfect for collectors who wish to keep the figure mint inside the box.
On the back of the box, we have a brief little bio about the Toy Box and the big #13 again to let you know he is the 13th figure in this line. Right below we have pictures of some more figures in the Marvel Toy Box line.
Flipping the box around one more time we have some artwork of Thanos. This is the artwork based on how Thanos would have appeared in the Disney Infinity Game.
Outside of the Box:
Let's open the box and take a closer look at the figure.
Taking Thanos out of the box, we get a very good look at him. I do feel the purple is a little dull, although they were trying to base him on the Infinity War look so I understand it. The gold they used for his armor looks very nice as well.
Thanos himself feels hefty, The plastic does not feel cheap at all. Disney has stepped up the game on the figures.
Accessories:
Let's see what kind of accessories the figure comes with.
Thanos comes with the Infinity Gauntlet and also a blast (punching) affect.
Articulation:
How can we pose the figure? Let's find out!
Thanos' articulation includes the following:
Hinged Ball Jointed Head - allows you to swivel the head 360-degrees and tilt the head back and forth.
Ball Hinged Shoulders - gives the arm 360-degree rotation and also the ability to raise and lower the arm.
Swivel Single Jointed Elbows - this allows you to bend the arm back and forth along with turning the arm 360-degrees.
Swivel Hinge Wrists - allows you to turn his wrists in a full 360-degree circle while also bending them up and down.
Waist Swivel - this lets you be able to turn the figure around 360 degrees at the waist.
Ball Jointed Legs - with this it allows the legs to move out to the side along with some front and back motion.
Single Jointed Knees - this allows you to bend the legs back and forth.
Hinged Ankles with rockers - The ankle hinge allows you to bend the foot front and back. The rockers allow you to rock the ankles towards the outside and inside of the legs of the figure.
Size Comparison:
How does the size of this figure compare to others?
Thanos stands right at 6 inches tall.
Here we have Thanos standing next to two other Toy Box figures, The Hulkbuster, and Hulk.
Rating:
What are Baby Huey's scores for the figure?
Paint Job 4/5
Paint job for the Toy Box figures has gotten better over the last year. If they could just get some paint shading on the figure then it would be perfect.
Figure Sculpt 5/5
The Sculpt of the figure is so well done. If Thanos would have made it into the Infinity game, this is how he would have looked.
Posing / Durability 4/5
Trying to Pose Thanos is not bad, it would have been perfect if he had a few more joints like double-jointed elbows and knees.
Overall Score 4.33/5
Retail Cost: $12.95
You can pick up Thanos at your local Disney Store or on the WEBSITE.
Time for some Toying Around!!
