Toying Around Reviews - Marvel Legends Vintage Collection: Scarlet Spider

Marvel Legends Vintage Collection: Scarlet Spider

Today we will be taking a look at the Scarlet Spider from the Marvel Legends Vintage Collection.

This line of vintage collection figures is an homage to the old Toy Biz line of Marvel figures from the 90s.

Packaging:

Before we open this up, let's take a look at the packaging.

Scarlet Spider comes in the same vintage blister card back that we have seen with other vintage collection figures. The packaging is to mimic that of the old Toy Biz Marvel heroes. You have a nice blue banner up tom with the Scarlet Spider logo at the top. Scarlet is displayed in the middle of the box along with some artwork of Scarlet Spider.

Turning the box to the side you get a nice look at the side of Scarlet Spider, this is nice for collectors who wish to keep the figure mint on card.

On the back of the box you have a small read up on Scarlet next to the same artwork we saw on the front. Below you have a listing of the rest of the figures in this line, Hawkeye, Black Panther, Ant-Man, Wasp and Vision.

Turning the box around one more time we again get a nice look at the figure from the side.

Outside of the Box:

Let's open the box and take a closer look at the figure.

Taking Scarlet Spider out of the box you can see the nice shiny red they have used for Scarlet. The blue for the hoodie is also a bit lighter than the Scarlet Spider we got about two years ago.

Accessories:

Let's see what kind of accessories the figure comes with.

Scarlet Spider comes with two web shooting hands and also a Ben Reilly head.

Articulation:

How can we pose the figure? Let's find out!

Scarlet Spider's articulation includes the following:

Hinged Ball Jointed Head - allows you to swivel the head 360-degrees and tilt the head back and forth.

Ball Hinged Shoulders - gives the arm 360-degree rotation and also the ability to raise and lower the arm.

Upper Bicep Swivel - This cut lets you turn the whole arm below the cut 360-degrees.

Double Jointed Elbows - this allows you to bend the arm back to have the hands near the shoulders.

Swivel Hinge Wrists - allows you to turn his wrists in a full 360-degree circle while also bending them up and down.

Ab Crunch - this cut lets you be able to bend the figure front and back at the Abs.

Waist Swivel - this lets you be able to turn the figure around 360 degrees at the waist.

Ball Jointed Legs - with this it allows the legs to move out to the side along with some front and back motion.

Upper Thigh Swivel - the leg can rotate around a full 360 degrees.

Double Jointed Knees - joint allows you to bend the leg itself all the way back to the butt of the figure.

Hinged Ankles with rockers  - The ankle hinge allows you to bend the foot front and back. The rockers allow you to rock the ankles towards the outside and inside of the legs of the figure.

Size Comparison:

How does the size of this figure compare to others?

Scarlet Spider stands right around 6.5 inches tall.

Here is Scarlet Spider with his “Brother” Spider-Man.

Next, we have Scarlet Spider with the 1st one that came out a few years ago, and also the homemade suit from the Homecoming movie Legends line.
