Toying Around Reviews - Marvel Legends Avengers Infinity War Captain America

Marvel Legends:

Avengers Infinity War Captain America

Today we will be taking a look at the Marvel Legends Captain America from Avengers: Infinity War movie line.

The Marvel Legends Series is a Mid-Tier toy line that both collectors and non-collectors alike would be interested in.  With multiple scales ranging from 4 inches to 12 inches and a good mix of detail and articulation, these figures tend to look good both inside and outside of the box.

Packaging:

Before we open this up, let's take a look at the packaging.

Captain America comes packed in the stranded Marvel Legends Series box. You have the Legends Series logo. Captain America is clearly displayed in the middle through the large window that showcases the figure as well as his accessories. This gives great visibility for collectors that may not be opening it. On the bottom of the box, you have the Avengers Infinity War logo as this is a movie based figure. Below that, you have Captain America's name.

On the left side of the box, we get some nice artwork of Captain America.

On the back of the box, you have a promo shot of the figure, and at the top a small bio. From the streets of Brooklyn to the intergalactic stage, Steve Rogers defends justice as Captain America. Below you have a picture of the Build-A-Figure as well as pictures of the rest of the figures in this wave.

#0 Iron Man, #1 Captain America, #2 Iron Spider, #3 Proxima Midnight, #4 Taskmaster, #5 Marvel's Songbird, #6 Serpent Society (King Cobra)

Flipping the box to the right side now, you see we get the same Captain America artwork that is on the left side.

Outside of the Box:

Let's open the box and take a closer look at the figure.

Taking a look at Captain America outside the box the 1st thing you notice is the darker blue on the suit. The Captain America has definitely been off the grid for a little bit of time.

Accessories:

Let's see what kind of accessories the figure comes with.

Captain America comes with his new Shield, a pair of fisted hands and the Head for the Thanos movie Build-A-Figure.

Articulation:

How can we pose the figure? Let's find out!

Captain America's articulation includes the following:

Hinged Ball Jointed Head - allows you to swivel the head 360-degrees and tilt the head back and forth.

Ball Hinged Shoulders - gives the arm 360-degree rotation and also the ability to raise and lower the arm.

Upper Bicep Swivel - This cut lets you turn the whole arm below the cut 360-degrees.

Double Jointed Elbows - this allows you to bend the arm back to have the hands near the shoulders.

Swivel Hinge Wrists - allows you to turn his wrists in a full 360-degree circle while also bending them up and down.

Ab Crunch - this cut lets you be able to bend the figure front and back at the Abs.

Waist Swivel - this lets you be able to turn the figure around 360 degrees at the waist.

Ball Jointed Legs - with this it allows the legs to move out to the side along with some front and back motion.

Upper Thigh Swivel - the leg can rotate around a full 360 degrees.

Double Jointed Knees - joint allows you to bend the leg itself all the way back to the butt of the figure.

Hinged Ankles with rockers  - The ankle hinge allows you to bend the foot front and back. The rockers allow you to rock the ankles towards the outside and inside of the legs of the figure.

Size Comparison:

How does the size of this figure compare to others?

Captain America stands right around 6-inches tall.

For size comparisons 1st we have Captain America standing next to his wave mates that we have already looked at Iron Man and Iron Spider.

Next, we have Captain America standing next to Captain America from the Avengers Age of Ultron.

Rating:

What are Baby Huey's scores for the figure?

Paint Job 5/5

The paint job on him is perfect. The darker colors really look good on him.

Figure Sculpt 5/5

I really love the sculpt on Cap, it is a new sculpt all together, Hasbro didn't go the cheap way and just reuse one of the older Caps. Well done Hasbro.

Posing / Durability 5/5

the new body on this figure allows for some updated articulation and overall just makes him such a better figure.

Overall Score 5/5

a perfect score for this Captain America.

Retail Cost: $19.99

I picked up my Captain America figure at Toys R Us (R.I.P.).
