Toying Around Reviews: DC Primal Age Mister Freeze NYCC Exclusive

DC Primal Age Mister Freeze NYCC Exclusive

Today we will be taking a look at Mister Freeze from the new DC Primal Age collection from Funko. This Mister Freeze was only available at this year’s New York Comic-Con.

Packaging:

Before we open this up, let's take a look at the packaging.

Mister Freeze comes on a blister card, not very collector friendly for those of us who like to take the figure out of the packaging.

On the front of the packaging, you have a nice big DC Primal Age logo at the top with the figure’s name listed right below. Mister Freeze himself is clearly displayed in the middle. The packaging has some nice artwork in the background.

Turning the box to the side you get a nice look at the figure at the side. this is perfect for our friends who like to keep the figure mint on card.

On the back of the box, we get some nice artwork of other figures that will be coming out in this line, Batman, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Scarecrow, Mister Freeze, King Shark, and The Joker.

Turning the box around one more time we get a nice look at the other side of the figure.

Outside of the Box:

Now that we have the figure outside the box lets take a closer look.

Taking Mister Freeze out of the box, you get a nice look at the light blue clear plastic they used on this figure to make him look like ice. You can also see that they used a more hollow type plastic for the chest then they used on the head, arms, and legs.

Accessories:

Let's see what kind of accessories the figure comes with.

Mister Freeze comes with an ice sword, helmet, shield, and an ice claw.

This figure being an NYCC exclusive also comes with what they are calling the “coin of protection”.

Articulation:

How can we pose the figure? Let's find out!

Red Ranger’s articulation includes the following:

Mushroom Jointed Head - allows you to turn the head 360-degrees.

Mushroom Jointed Shoulders - allows you to rotate the arms 360-degrees.

Waist Swivel - this allows you to turn the top of the figure around 360-degrees.

Ball Jointed Legs - with this it allows the legs to move out to the side along with some front and back motion it is hindered by the costume a little bit.

Size Comparison:

How does the size of this figure compare to others?

Mr. Freeze stands right around 5.5 inches tall.

Here we have Mr. Freeze standing next to the DC Multiverse Rebirth Batman.

Rating:

What are Baby Huey's scores for the figure?

Paint Job 5/5

The figure has no paint on him, so he should get a 0 but it is understandable because the figure is made to look like he is made out of ice, so there shouldn’t be any paint.

Figure Sculpt 4/5

The sculpt and look of the figure is really nice, I am really loving all the small details they put on the armor and on his face.

Posing / Durability 2/5

I get that they were going for a throwback look to the old He-Man figures but the static pose sometimes leaves more to be desired when trying to pose him.

Overall Score 3.66/5

The idea for the figures is a really “cool” one, I just can’t wait to see how the other looks when they finally come out.
