Toying Around Reviews - DC Multiverse Shazam Movie: Shazam!

DC Multiverse Shazam Movie: Shazam!

Today we are taking a look at Shazam! from the DC Multiverse line. Shazam! is a Walmart Exclusive figure.

Shazam! is based on how he will look in his upcoming DCEU movie.

The DC Multiverse line, like Marvel Legends, is a Mid-Tier toy line that both collectors and non-collectors alike would be interested in. With multiple scales ranging from 4 inches to 12 inches and a good mix of detail and articulation, these figures tend to look good both inside and outside of the box.

Packaging:

Before we open this up, let's take a look at the packaging.

Shazam comes in the new standard blue and black packaging that we now see with all the Multiverse figures. The figure is displayed in the middle with his accessories displayed for you to see. To the left of that, you have a Picture of Shazam from the movie.  On the bottom of the box, we have the DC logo along with the Multiverse logo.

The left side of the box shows the same Shazam image that we see on the front of the box.

Turning the box to the back we have a nice view of Shazam again along with the other figure in this line, Dr. Sivana.

Moving the box around once more to the right side, we have that same Shazam picture.

Outside of the Box:

Let's open the box and take a closer look at the figure.

Taking Shazam out of the box we get a good look at the nice deep red color that was used. Looking at the back of him it’s nice to see the details of the gold around the cape.

Accessories:

Let's see what kind of accessories the figure comes with.

Shazam comes with a pair of flying hands and a pair of gripping hands.

Articulation:

How can we pose the figure? Let's find out!

Shazam's articulation includes the following:

Hinged Ball Jointed Head - allows you to swivel the head 360-degrees and tilt the head back and forth.

Ball Hinged Shoulders - gives the arm 360-degree rotation and also the ability to raise and lower the arm (hindered big time by the hard plastic cape on the shoulders).

Upper Bicep Swivel - This cut lets you turn the whole arm below the cut 360-degrees.

Double Jointed Elbows - this allows you to bend the arm back to have the hands near the shoulders.

Swivel Hinge Wrists - allows you to turn his wrists in a full 360-degree circle while also bending them up and down.

Ab Crunch - this cut lets you be able to bend the figure front and back at the Abs.

Waist Swivel - this lets you be able to turn the figure around 360 degrees at the waist.

Ball Jointed Legs - with this it allows the legs to move out to the side along with some front and back motion.

Upper Thigh Swivel - the leg can rotate around a full 360 degrees.

Double Jointed Knees - joint allows you to bend the leg itself back to the butt of the figure.

Hinged Ankles with rockers  - The ankle hinge allows you to bend the foot front and back. The rockers allow you to rock the ankles towards the outside and inside of the legs of the figure.

Size Comparison:

How does the size of this figure compare to others?

Rating:

What are Baby Huey's scores for the figure?

Paint Job 5/5

Mattel did an amazing job on this figure with the paint, the little details on the cape really make it stand out.

Figure Sculpt 4/5

The overall sculpt is nice, Mattel has been getting better with the figures, the only downside is the figure doesn’t really look like Zachary Levi

Posing / Durability 4/5

The new joints that Mattel has been using have been far and above better than the older figures, have to give it to them.

Overall Score 4.33/5

Retail Cost: $19.99

I picked up my Shazam figure at my local WALMART.
