DC Multiverse Gotham by Gaslight Batman

Today we are taking a look at Black Manta from the DC Multiverse Collect and Connect Lex Luthor figure.

This Batman figure is based on how he looked in the Gotham by Gaslight graphic novel and also the new animated movie of the same name.

Packaging:

Before we open this up, let's take a look at the packaging.

Batman comes in the new standard blue and black packaging that we now see with all the Multiverse figures. You have the Collect and Connect logo at the top left. Below that you have the figures name along with the DC comics Logo, to let you know this is a comic based figure. The figure is clearly displayed in the middle with his accessories displayed for you to see. To the left of that, you have an image of Batman from the comic. On the bottom of the box, we have the DC logo along with the Multiverse logo.

The left side of the box shows the same Batman image that we see on the front of the box.

Turning the box to the back we have a nice view of the whole wave (Vixon, Batman, The Ray, Rebirth Wonder Woman) and a picture of the full Lex Luthor Collect and Connect figure, with yet another picture of Batman.

Moving the box around once more to the right side, we have that same Batman picture.

Outside of the Box:

Let's open the box and take a closer look at the figure.

Taking Batman outside the box you get a very good look at the fabric that they used on his cap and the harder plastic that they used up around his shoulders.

Accessories:

Let's see what kind of accessories the figure comes with.

Batman only comes with 4 knives that can fit inside his belt.

Articulation:

How can we pose the figure? Let's find out!

Batman's articulation includes the following:

Hinged Ball Jointed Head - allows you to swivel the head 360-degrees and tilt the head back and forth.

Ball Hinged Shoulders - gives the arm 360-degree rotation and also the ability to raise and lower the arm (hindered big time by the hard plastic cape on the shoulders).

Upper Bicep Swivel - This cut lets you turn the whole arm below the cut 360-degrees.

Single Jointed Elbows - this allows you to bend the arm about 90 degrees.

Swivel Hinge Wrists - allows you to turn his wrists in a full 360-degree circle while also bending them up and down.

Ab Crunch - this cut lets you be able to bend the figure front and back at the Abs.

Waist Swivel - this lets you be able to turn the figure around 360 degrees at the waist.

Ball Jointed Legs - with this it allows the legs to move out to the side along with some front and back motion.

Upper Thigh Swivel - the leg can rotate around a full 360 degrees.

Double Jointed Knees - joint allows you to bend the leg itself back to the butt of the figure.

Hinged Ankles with rockers - The ankle hinge allows you to bend the foot front and back. The rockers allow you to rock the ankles towards the outside and inside of the legs of the figure.

Batman stands right around the 6-inch mark.

It is kind of hard to mess up grey and black.

The overall sculpt is nice, Mattel has been getting better with the figures

with the hard plastic over the shoulders, it is almost impossible to move the arms to get any kind of decent posing out of this figure.
