Toying Around Reviews - NECA TMNT Target Two-Pack Shredder
NECA TMNT Target Two-Pack Shredder
Today we will be taking a look at Shredder from the Target exclusive TMNT two-pack from NECA.
This two-pack is the same figures that were released last year in the SDCC 8 pack and has caused some controversy in the collecting world.
Packaging:
Before we open this up, let's take a look at the packaging.
Leo and Shredder come in the same two-pack that the rest of the figures come in. The top of the box has Leo and Shredder’s name at the top. Leo and Shredder are displayed in the middle. The bottom has some artwork of both Leo and Shredder.
Turning the box to the side you get a nice look at Leo in an action pose.
The back of the box gives you a little back story on the turtles, After being accidentally exposed to radioactive ooze, four ordinary household pets are transformed into a band of wisecracking, pizza-loving, villain-dicing adolescent reptiles! Meet Leonardo the super-cool, sword-wielding leader… Raphael, the jokester, hurling manholes and one-liners in rapid succession… Donatello, the brain behind the brawn… and Michelangelo, the ice cream, pizza gobbling party animal. Whether it’s facing fierce enemies or saving humanity from near extinction, with the guidance of their sensei, these heroes in a Half Shell are always ready for straight outta the sewer action! Below that you get a look at the other 3 two-packs, to the left we get a look at Leo and Shredder fighting one another.
Turning the box to the other side you have a nice look at Shredder in an action pose.
Outside of the Box:
Let's open the box and take a closer look at the figure.
Taking Shredder outside the box we do get a very good look at the comic book style shading they used on him to make it look like he came right from the comic book or cartoon. The purple cape is a nice deep purple and flows very nicely on The Shredder.
Accessories:
Let's see what kind of accessories the figure comes with.
Shredder comes with a few pairs of interchangeable hands, two extra fists, and two pointing type hands. He already comes attached with two holding hands, for the sword.
Shredder also comes with his sword, a can of ooze and a communicator with krang on the screen.
Articulation:
How can we pose the figure? Let's find out!
Shredder’s articulation includes the following:
Hinged Ball Jointed Head/Neck - allows you to swivel the head 360-degrees and tilt the head back and forth.
Ball Hinged Shoulders - gives the arm 360-degree rotation and also the ability to raise and lower the arm.
Upper Bicep Swivel - This cut lets you turn the whole arm below the cut 360-degrees.
Double Jointed Elbows - this allows you to bend the arm back to have the hands near the shoulders.
Swivel Hinge Wrists - allows you to turn his wrists in a full 360-degree circle while also bending them up and down.
Ball Jointed Legs - with this it allows the legs to move out to the side along with some front and back motion.
Upper Thigh Swivel - the leg can rotate around a full 360 degrees.
Double Jointed Knees - joint allows you to bend the leg itself back to the butt of the figure.
Ankle swivels - The ankle swivel lets you turn the feet a full 360 degrees.

Rating:
What are Baby Huey's scores for the figure?
Paint Job 5/5
The paint job on the figures is so well done, I really have nothing to complain about.
Figure Sculpt / Posing 4/5
The sculpt works so well with the Shredder You can him them into just about any pose you want.
Durability 4/5
While the figures look amazing. Unlike Leo, Shredder’s joints feel a little lost so getting him to stand can be a pain sometimes.
Overall Score 4.33/5
I do like the set a lot, I just fear how durable they can be.
Retail Cost: $49.99
You can only pick the set up at TARGET!
