Toying Around Reviews - Marvel Legends Netflix Daredevil

Marvel Legends - Netflix Daredevil

Today we will be taking a look at Daredevil from the Netflix TV show that is apart of the Man-Thing Build-A-figure wave.

The Marvel Legends Series is a Mid-Tier toy line that both collectors and non-collectors alike would be interested in.  With multiple scales ranging from 4 inches to 12 inches and a good mix of detail and articulation, these figures tend to look good both inside and outside of the box.

Packaging:

Before we open this, let's take a look at the packaging.

Daredevil comes packed in the stranded Marvel Legends Series box. You have the Man-Thing wave logo at the top with the Legends Series logo displayed right below. Daredevil is clearly displayed in the middle through a large window that showcases the figure as well as his accessories.  This gives great visibility for collectors that may not be opening it. On the bottom of the box, you have the Daredevil Netflix logo as this is a Netflix TV show based figure.

On the left side of the box, we get some nice artwork from Daredevil.

On the back of the box, you have a promo shot of the figure at the top with a small bio. Below you have a picture of the Daredevil Build-A-Figure as well as pictures of the rest of the figures in this wave.

#1 Daredevil, #2 The Punisher, #3 Electra, #4 Jessica Jones, #5 Blade (comic), #6 Bullseye

Flipping the box to the right side now you see we get the same Daredevil artwork that is on the left side.

Outside of the Box:

Let's open the box and take a closer look at Daredevil.

First, look out of the box you can see Hasbro did a very good job at making the figure look like he does in the show. also right out of the box, I can see some wear the figures left shoulder. The cut is not big enough to cleanly move the should up into the torso of the body when raising the arm.

Accessories:

Let’s see what kind of accessories Daredevil comes with.

Daredevil comes with the head to the Man-Thing Build-A-Figure.

He also comes with his billy club weapon and a pair of fists to use when Daredevil needs to punch out the bad guys.

Articulation:

How can we pose Daredevil? Let's find out!

Daredevil's articulation includes the following:

Hinged Ball Jointed Head - allows you to swivel the head 360-degrees and tilt the head back and forth.

Ball Hinged Shoulders - gives the arm 360-degree rotation and also the ability to raise and lower the arm.

Double Jointed Elbows - this allows you to bend the arm back to have the hands near the shoulders.

Swivel Hinge Wrists - allows you to turn his wrists in a full 360-degree circle while also bending them up and down.

Ab Crunch - this cut lets you be able to bend the figure front and back at the Abs.

Waist Swivel - this lets you be able to turn the figure around 360 degrees at the waist.

Ball Jointed Legs - with this it allows the legs to move out to the side along with some front and back motion.

Upper Thigh Swivel - the leg can rotate around a full 360 degrees.

Double Jointed Knees - joint allows you to bend the leg itself all the way back to the butt of the figure.

Hinged Ankles with rockers  - The ankle hinge allows you to bend the foot front and back. The rockers allow you to rock the ankles towards the outside and inside of the legs of the figure.

Daredevil has 28 points of articulation

Size Comparison:

How does the size of this figure compare to others?

First up we have Daredevil with his Marvel Legends comic counterpart.

Next up we have Daredevil with Marvel Legends Spider-Man from the Homecoming wave, and also his wave mate Jessica Jones who is also based on her Netflix look.

Finally, we have Daredevil standing next to the Marvel Legends All-New All-Different Spider-Man.

Rating:

What are Baby Huey's scores for the figure?

Paint Job 4/5

The paint job on the figure is almost perfect. I would have liked it more if they could have made his beard stubble look a little better but what they have isn't that bad.

Figure Sculpt 2/5

The figure sculpt overall is very good, I feel the head is just a tad too big for the figure. if it was a little smaller it be perfect. The sculpt rubbing on the left shoulder for me is also hurts the figure a lot. If they had made the socket a little bit bigger there would be no issues.

Posing / Durability 4/5

Posing is very good on this figure. The new ankle rockers they gave him take a little bit on how to use them but once you do they work very well and don't make anything seem out of place.

Overall Score 3.33/5

Overall he is a good figure. If you are a fan of the Netflix show and Marvel Legends then this is a win-win for you!

Retail Cost: $19.99
