Toying Around Reviews - Marvel Legends: Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness - Doctor Strange

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness:

Doctor Strange

Today we will be taking a look at Marvel Legends Doctor Strange from the new Multiverse of Madness line. This wave is built off of characters from the comics and this new movie.

The Marvel Legends Series is a lower-tier toy line that both collectors and non-collectors alike would be interested in. This is an action figure line based on the characters of Marvel Comics, initially produced by Toy Biz, then by Hasbro. This line is in the 6-inch (150 mm) scale, with spin-off lines in the 4-inch (100 mm), 8-inch (200 mm), and 12-inch (300 mm) scale. these figures tend to look good inside and outside the box.

PACKAGING:

Before we open this up, let's take a look at the packaging.

Doctor Strange comes packed in the stranded Marvel Legends Series box. The top of the box has the Build-A-Figure logo, this wave is for Rintrah, The Legends Series logo is right below it. Doctor Strange is displayed in the middle through the large window that showcases the figure as well as the accessories. This gives great visibility to collectors that may not be opening it. On the bottom of the box, you have the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness logo as this is a part of the movie’s line.

On the left side of the box, we get some artwork of Doctor Strange.

On the back of the box, we have a picture of Doctor Strange as well as a small bio as well as the rest of the figures you need to complete Rintrah

Flipping the box to the right side now, you see we get the same artwork again.

OUTSIDE OF THE BOX:

Let's open the box and take a closer look at the figure.

Breaking Doctor Strange out of his plastic prison we can finally get a good look at his new look. This is the best comic look we have gotten for Strange so far.

The cape doesn’t attach to the figure at all so it does fall off very easily.

To me, this is also the best-looking Benedict Cumberbatch we have gotten to date.

ACCESSORIES:

Let's see what kind of accessories the figure comes with.

DOCTOR STRANGE COMES WITH:

Two spell-casting hands

Two spell effects

DOCTOR STRANGE’S ARTICULATION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:

BUTTERFLY HING:

This allows you to move the shoulder area front and back to get a better range of motion.

BALL HINGED SHOULDERS:

It gives the arm 360-degree rotation and also the ability to raise and lower the arm.

DOUBLE-JOINTED ELBOWS:

This allows you to bend the arm over 90 degrees.

SWIVEL HINGE WRISTS:

This allows you to turn his wrists in a full 360-degree circle while also bending them up and down.

This cut lets you be able to bend the figure front and back at the Abs.

This lets you turn the figure around 360 degrees at the waist.

BALL JOINTED LEGS:

With this it allows the legs to move out to the side along with some front and back motion.

The joint allows you to bend the leg itself back to the butt of the figure.

SIZE COMPARISON:

How does the size of this figure compare to others?

Doctor Strange stands right around 6.5 inches tall.

Here is our new Doctor Strange standing next to Strange Supreme from the What If show.

RATING:

What are Baby Huey's scores for the figure?

PAINT JOB 4.5/5

The paint job on this figure is very well done. I just wish there was a wash or something on the cape.

FIGURE SCULPT 5/5

Sculpt is very done that he looks like he stepped right off the screen

POSING 5/5

Posing with this figure is very easy, he has everything you would have come to love from a Marvel Legends figure.

ACCESSORIES: 5/5

You get some extra hands and spells, not really sure what else you could add to a Doctor Strange figure.

DURABILITY 5/5

Plastic is great on this figure, no worries at all.

OVERALL SCORE 4.9/5

Best looking and the most comic-accurate Doctor Strange figure we have gotten yet. Just need to add the yellow gloves to the next one and we are golden.
