Toying Around Reviews: Disney Toy Box Baymax
Disney Toy Box - Baymax
Today we will be taking a look at Baymax from the Disney Exclusive Toy Box line.
The Toy Box line is a newer line that Disney has been putting out themselves. All the figures in the line (Disney, Marvel, Star Wars and Pixar) are based loosely on the old Disney Infinity toys-to-life game that was available on PS4, Xbox and Wii U.
Packaging:
Before we open this up, let's take a look at the packaging.
Baymax comes in the standard Toy Box box, however, the box is a little bit bigger than a normal figure due to the size of the figure. At the top, you have the Disney Store exclusive logo with the Disney Toy Box Logo running down the left side of the box. Baymax is displayed inside the blister card. Behind him, you have a big blue #5 as he is the 5th figure in the Disney Toy Box. Down the bottom, you have Baymax's name.
Turning the box to the side you have a clear side look at Baymax. This is perfect for collectors who wish to keep the figure mint inside the box.
On the back of the box, we have a brief little bio about the Toy Box and the big #5 again to let you know he is the 5th figure in this line. Right below we have pictures of the rest of the figures in this wave Mickey Mouse, Jack, Baymax and Hiro.
Flipping the box around one more time we have some artwork of Baymax. This is the artwork based on how Baymax appeared in the Disney Infinity Game.
Outside of the Box:
Let's open the box and take a closer look at the figure.
Taking Baymax outside the box we get a nice look at the figure. We get to see the nice color red that they used on him.
It roes look like Baymax came right out of the game,
Accessories:
Let's see what kind of accessories the figure comes with.
NONE!
Articulation:
How can we pose the figure? Let's find out!
Baymax's articulation includes the following:
Hinged Ball Jointed Head - allows you to swivel the head 360-degrees and tilt the head back and forth.
Ball Hinged Shoulders - gives the arm 360-degree rotation and also the ability to raise and lower the arm.
Swivel Single Jointed Elbows - this allows you to bend the arm back and forth along with turning the arm 360-degrees.
Swivel Hinge Wrists - allows you to turn his wrists in a full 360-degree circle while also bending them up and down.
Waist Swivel - this lets you be able to turn the figure around 360 degrees at the waist.
Ball Jointed Legs - with this it allows the legs to move out to the side along with some front and back motion.
Single Jointed Knees - this allows you to bend the legs back and forth.
Hinged Ankles with rockers - The ankle hinge allows you to bend the foot front and back. The rockers allow you to rock the ankles towards the outside and inside of the legs of the figure.
Wings - The wings are on a ball joint that lets you swivel them 360-degrees, the wings themselves also have a hinge that lets you move them up and down.
Size Comparison:
How does the size of this figure compare to others?
Baymax stands just a hair under 6 inches tall.
For size comparison we have him standing next to Hulk who is also from the Disney Toy Box line.
Next, we have Baymax standing next to himself from the Disney Infinity line that he is loosely based off of.
Finally, we have Baymax standing next to Iron Man from the Toy Box line and the Marvel Legends Civil War Iron Man.
Rating:
What are Baby Huey's scores for the figure?
Paint Job 3/5
Paint job for the ToyBox figures has gotten better over the last year. If Disney can step it up now and put some paint shading onto the figures that would be awesome.
Figure Sculpt 5/5
The Sculpt of the figure is so well done. I think it’s one of the best likenesses they have done yet.
Posing / Durability 3/5
Trying to Pose Baymax is a little hard. The armor gets in the way of having some good looking poses.
Overall Score 3.66/5
Retail Cost: $14.95
You can pick up Baymax at your local Disney Store or on the WEBSITE.
Time for some Toying Around!!
